Joe P Dear dear dear Alan Rickman. Gone before his time but we're lucky to be able to partake of his genius here with the wonderful Juliet Stevenson in a stunning story that grips you from start to finish. A love story served upside down and inside out and throughout is incredibly touching. Rated 5/5 Stars • Rated 5 out of 5 stars 12/03/23 Full Review Robbi W One of my absolutely all time favourite movies. I've never forgotten it. Sweet, sad and profound but ultimately a celebration of life. Rated 5/5 Stars • Rated 5 out of 5 stars 06/27/23 Full Review Donnette T Even Alan Rickman couldn't save this treacly and ponderous sniveller. Rated 1/5 Stars • Rated 1 out of 5 stars 05/08/23 Full Review Nisha Y The performances seem like they are great, but I don't think the actors themselves were ever truly or madly convinced of the plot, and Stevenson does not look in anyway attracted to Maloney as the new love, no chemistry what so ever. And all the older men crooning over her and how beautiful she is... feels totally contrived. She is beautiful, her way, her being, but she looks odd and androgynous to the point of asexual. I think this film is a good candidate for a remake, and that the remake would be much better. Rated 2.5/5 Stars • Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Matt W A deeply sweet fable about loss. Alan Rickman's best performance in his storied career. Rated 5/5 Stars • Rated 5 out of 5 stars 11/21/22 Full Review Gerard W Beautiful writing by Anthony Minghella and outstanding performances from Alan Rickman and Juliet Stevenson. Has an honesty about loss and grief rarely seen on screen. Rated 5/5 Stars • Rated 5 out of 5 stars 10/22/22 Full Review Read all reviews
