I attended UNLV my freshman year of college. The only reason I ended up transferring out was because they did not offer a Dental Hygiene program which is what I decided I was going to pursue. My overall experience with professors was great. There were just a couple that I felt did not live up to my expectations. My main issue was with the Computer Science program. I know it is a rigorous and extremely challenging path to go down; however, I did not feel that significant concepts were broken down enough for students to understand in such little time. My CS 135 professor I was great. My CS 202 professor was a good person, but I do not think he knew how to break down concepts for people whose whole lives do not revolve around computers.

It’s a very solid campus. Beautiful greenery and the buildings are really nicely made and interesting. I enjoy my time on college when I am there on campus. It’s great for making friends and I feel good about my choices there.

My overall experience with UNLV has been great. The campus is beautiful and the people who go there are very nice and friendly. What I would like to see change is it being an open campus to the public, since with had that situation in December of 2023.

Felt disconnected from the school entire time no matter what I did, no actual friends to speak of just go to school and come home that it. I wish it was just a bit more friendly and easy to make friends but i guess it’s just the community.

A vibrant and varied academic atmosphere is provided by UNLV. Both the level of instruction and the faculty's commitment have been outstanding. In addition to being competent, my lecturers care about the success of their students. They create an encouraging atmosphere for learning and are always ready to lend a hand, offer advice, or serve as a mentor. There have been difficulties even though my time at UNLV has been mostly good. It has been difficult for me to juggle part-time employment and academic obligations to fund my education. There have been moments when the cost of living and tuition has made my academic career more stressful. Additionally, some changes I would like to see is more implementation of campus safety for the students. Increasing the frequency of patrols, particularly throughout the night and evening, might further improve campus security.

I really enjoyed the students I worked with in classes like physics and English. All of them were intelligent and very interesting/fun to discuss with. They are one of the reasons why I recommend UNLV. There really isn’t anything negative I can say about UNLV.

I have thoroughly enjoyed my academic life on campus and the various social activities I have participated in. UNLV is very welcoming to all and exemplifies the diversity and opportunity that Las Vegas prides itself on.

I liked the diversity of the school and how much people were so nice. I like the fact that they have a security system in place for when students are walking to class. They are provided the option of having someone walk them to class if they do not feel comfortable walking alone. There is also an app that helps with safety.

UNLV is a unique campus and provides a different college experience due to the large population of students that are commute to school and do not live on campus. I cannot speak for campus life, as I was a commuter student. However, I think that the academics provided at UNLV are stellar. I was in the UNLV Honors College, and I loved the niche and specialty classes offered at the upper-division level. I also had great professors during the entirety of my four-year degree.

I like the student diversity but it is hard to make friends. I would like for the campus to become a closed campus.

Student life is a bit scare but there are those who do make the best of it and hope to bring an enjoyable college experience to all. Academics are good and professors are good as well. They are challenging and engaging. Safety at school, considering what happened in December of 2023 was a bit scary and did raise some security concerns but the campus is actively trying to make it so that students and professors are safe and can lean in an environment that promotes their academic, mental, emotional, and physical wellbeing.

it is honestly a really nice school. The other students come from all different backgrounds, so you constantly get to interact with such unique and diverse characters. The campus is very big, but also very nicely kept up. Lots of beautiful greenery and landscaping. The professors are very accommodating and kind, and I enjoy getting to go on campus whenever I can. The course loads are intensive, but well worth it. Glad I'm going here :-)

UNLV is definitely not a bad experience as a person who was born and raised in Vegas, but it lacks a fun and interesting campus life due to the large amount of commuters.

UNLV is placed in the heart of Las Vegas, a known party city. However, you wouldn't know that by walking around the campus with trees and greenery everywhere and amazingly helpful people. UNLV is the place to be.

This is a great university that while is has its flaws, it has equal highlights to it. There is a wide variety of program here for people to choose from. I would change perhaps making help for students or more leniency when it come to applying for certain programs.
